CrawlPod

Privacy

Last updated August 2026.

This describes what CrawlPod actually collects and why — specific to this site, not a generic template.

What we collect

  • Waitlist signups (/shopify, /wordpress): your email, which platform you selected, and an optional store URL.
  • Scan requests (/scan): the URL you submit, the resulting score and check results. These are not private — a scan report gets a shareable link at /scan/[id], and anyone with that link can view it. Don't scan a URL you don't want associated with a public report.
  • Optional email on a scan report: if you choose "email me this report," we store that email linked to the specific report and send it once.
  • AI-crawler visit logs: this site logs detected AI-bot visits (bot name, company, the page requested, a timestamp) to power the live panel on the homepage. This is bot traffic, not data about human visitors.
  • Aggregate page-view analyticsvia Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn't track individuals across sites.

We don't use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

Chrome extension

The CrawlPod Chrome extension ("CrawlPod — AI Visibility Score & SEO Checker") works as follows:

  • When you click the extension icon, it reads the current page's URL, meta tags, schema markup, and HTML structure to calculate an AI Visibility Score.
  • The page URL is sent to crawlpod.com/api to check robots.txt, llms.txt, and crawler access rules. No other data leaves your browser.
  • Your daily scan count is stored locally in Chrome's storage to enforce the 10 scans/day free limit. This data never leaves your device.
  • The extension does not collect personally identifiable information, browsing history, cookies, or authentication credentials.
  • The extension does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising of any kind.
  • Scan results are not stored server-side unless you explicitly use the "share" feature on crawlpod.com.

Who processes it

  • Vercel — hosting and analytics.
  • Neon — Postgres database (waitlist, scan reports, scan-report email capture).
  • Resend — sends waitlist confirmation and scan-report emails.

How long we keep it

We keep this data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. We haven't yet published a specific retention schedule; if you'd like something deleted before we do, contact us (below) and we'll handle it directly.

Your options

You can ask us to delete your waitlist signup, a scan report tied to your email, or any other data we hold about you, at any time.
